Prof. Zheyao Wang was born in China in 1972. He received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering in 1995, and Ph.D. degree in mechatronics in 2000, both from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.From 1995 to 2000, he was with the Dept. Precision Instruments, Tsinghua University, where he developed digital force sensors using piezoelectric materials. From 2000 to 2002, he was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Institute of Microelectronics, Tsinghua University, where he worked on silicon micromachining for RF applications with a special focus on ferroelectric thin films on silicon substrates. In 2002, he joined DIMES, (Delft Institute of Microsystems and Nanoelectronics), Delft University of Technology, Delft, the Netherlands, as a postdoctoral researcher, and worked on silicon micromachined structures and components for 3D packaging and RF applications. He is currently a full professor in Institute of Microelectronics, Tsinghua University.
His research interests include MEMS, three-dimensional integration, and micro- and nanosensors, with special focus on biomedical applications. He has authored and co-authored more than 60 journal and conference papers. He acts as a reviewer for a number of journals, and serves as a technical program committee member for IEEE Sensors Conference 2008, 2009, and 2010.
